Stevens Institute of Technology (SERC/AIRC)

The Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC) was established by the DoD in 2008 as the first networked University Affiliated Research Center (UARC). Anchored at Stevens Institute of Technology, the network spans more than 25 colleges, including USC, Purdue, Virginia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech and others. In 2020, the DoD established the SERC's companion UARC, the Acquisition Innovation Research Center, which applies systems thinking to advance defense acquisition (acqirc.org).
